If you’ve already configured the rules and rates for commission payments and are familiar with the Excel reconciliation map, then you’re ready to create a new commissions report.
Step 1: Start the report creation process
From any screen within your Apizeal portal, locate the "+ CREATE" button in the top-left corner and click on it. Then select the "NEW COMMISSIONS REPORT" option from the submenu.
Step 2: Fill out the required fields in the creation form
A window titled "Create a new commission report" will appear. Here, you must complete the required fields. Below is a brief explanation of each field:
Report Title: Enter the name of the report you’re about to calculate. Ideally, use the carrier’s name followed by the month and year being processed.
Effective Month: This refers to the payment period you are calculating in the report. Select the month and year that correspond to the payment date.
Companies to be processed: Choose the carrier or insurance company whose commissions will be calculated in this report.
States to be processed: Leave this field blank unless you need to calculate the commissions report for a specific state. If so, select the appropriate state from the list.
To confirm the selected fields, click the "SUBMIT" button.
Step 3: View the generated report and its initial status
You will now see the new commissions report on your screen, including the list of policies that match the previously selected parameters and which, according to the records in your Apizeal portal, are due for payment.
By default, the new report will appear in DRAFT status, and all commissions and overrides will be marked as PENDING, meaning they are awaiting approval or review.
✏️ Note: While the report is in DRAFT status, only users with the "ADMIN" role in your portal can view it. Agents will only be able to see their payment statement once the report is finalized and closed.
